The Astron GPS Solar, the world's finest GPS wristwatch with time zone recognition, was introduced in 2012 with the calibre 7X. In 2014 the calibre 8X was added to the collection. This second-generation calibre also features a chronograph function and a number of improvements compared to the 7X calibre. Today, in the year 2015, the Astron Revolution takes another big step with the inclusion of a third calibre designed specifically for globetrotters. With the new Dual Time calibre you can now see the time, not only in your home time zone on a simple 12-hour display, but also in your current local time with a separate AM / PM display (morning / afternoon). In addition, a retrograde display by the 2 o'clock position shows the day of the week and a window at the 4 o'clock position shows the date. Thanks to a perpetual calendar, the date is always displayed correctly until February 28th, 2100, and an electronic crown makes it very easy to operate the watch. The Astron connects to the GPS network at the touch of a button and adjusts itself to the local time in your time zone. Therefore, it only uses light energy and doesn't need a battery change. As with any Astron watch, the dials are straightforward, clear and legible. The casing are hand polished using Seiko's unique Zaratsu technology to reflect incoming light without distortion. The stunning dial design is made possible by Seiko's mastery of energy management. The GPS module, developed by Seiko, consumes so little energy that the solar cells always provide enough electrical energy regardless of the colour of the dial.
